Technology Has Helped Create An Abundance Of Distracted Drivers

November 27, 2015

There is no denying the fact that technology has had a profound impact on our lives. With the advent of the Internet and other communication networks, we have the capability to be connected to others 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Certainly, in many ways this constant interconnectivity has been a boon to people on both a personal and business level. But there is a downside as well.

It seems that for far too many people, this unfettered connectivity has created an insatiable appetite for information and communication. But while it is perfectly fine to give full attention to a computer or phone while at home, it is quite another thing to let such devices pull focus while driving.

Distracted driving is a very serious problem that affects everyone who travels the roads of Pennsylvania. When drivers avert their eyes from the road to read a text on a mobile device, they may as well be shutting their eyes.

A fast moving vehicle can travel a good distance in a manner of seconds and it only takes an instant for traffic conditions to change. If a driver is not watching out for other vehicles or road hazards, the chance of being in a collision is increased dramatically.

Distracted driving is negligent driving and those who suffer injuries in accidents caused by such drivers deserve appropriate compensation to cover their medical expenses and damages. Likewise, irresponsible drivers should be held accountable for their actions.

At Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C., we work to help our clients secure the compensation they need for recovery. In distracted driver cases, we can employ a variety of investigative techniques to prove liability. You can learn more about our services on the distracted driver page of this website.
