August 27, 2010, ERIE, Pa — News that Dr. Rob Purchase passed the oral portions of his board exams flashed through the Purchase family today and is reported in our News section . Family members report both pride and relief that the board certification seems to confirm that Dr. Purchase will now be able to support himself and his family with this whole “orthopedic surgery” gig that some feared was just a passing fad.
Dr. Purchase is reportedly well regarded in his chosen community in Modesto, CA but some family members still struggle to think of him as anything other than the dorky little brother with a penchant for training gadgets like the platform shoe and a disturbing proclivity for being the main subject of embarrassing moments like the famous “plotch incident.”
