October 24, 2010, Erie, PA — An Erie lawyer has been named President of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute . Craig R. F. Murphey will serve this year as president of the Pennsylvania insurance industry organization devoted to minimizing compensation to injured people.
Atty. Murphey is a good friend and one of my former partners at MacDonald Illig Jones & Britton where he has represented Pennsylvania insurance companies and their insureds for most of his career. An outstanding lawyer and fine man, PDI is lucky to have Craig Murphey as their leader this year.
We vigorously disagree with the aims and purposes of PDI but, for this one year, will wish them well, meaning we will refrain from wishing upon them any specific harm.
Congratulations, Craig! Hope your tenure is well-received but ends in a life-changing epiphany that causes you to turn your back on insurance companies and defense work and join the ranks of Erie lawyers who actually try to help the innocent injured.
