Pennsylvania Car Accident Lawyers Teen Driver Safety Week Announced

October 15, 2010

October 16, 2010, ERIE, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is reminding teens of the upcoming Teen Driver Safety Week. The week was established by Governor Ed Rendell to coincide with a national observance of the problem.

Drivers age 16 to 19 were involved in 121,845 crashes, including 1,011 fatalities, in Pennsylvania between 2005 and 2009. In more than half of those accidents, teens were engaged in risky behavior, including distracted driving; speeding; or improper or careless turning.

The Erie law firm of Purchase, George & Murphey, P.C., P.C. has committed to doing its part to educate teens about the risks of distracted driving. The firm is one of 12 national sponsors of Teens Against Distracted Driving (“TADD “) and has committed to providing experienced Pennsylvania lawyers as free speakers to groups in Northwest Pennsylvania interested in promoting awareness of the problem of distracted driving.

The firm encourages people to call if they or someone they know would be interested in arranging a speaking engagement anywhere in the northwest Pennsylvania region. An experienced car accident attorney will be pleased to appear and offer information about the dangers of distracted driving, particularly among the younger population.
