According to police, Michael Rogers, 41, of Cambridge Springs, was driving a dump truck owned by Showman Excavating south on Peach Street in the 9500 block. Mr. Rogers was downshifting while approaching a vehicle stopped in the southbound lane when he apparently lost control of the dump truck and crossed into the northbound lane, where he collided with a northbound Buick SUV, occupied by Rexford and Linda Morris of Corry.
The dump truck then continued off the east side of the road and crashed into the “Shear Fantasy” hair salon, which was not open for business at the time of the accident and was unoccupied.
Although none in the salon was injured, both Mr. Morris and Mrs. Morris were taken to Hamot Medical Center where they were treated and released. No other information was available about their injuries.
State Police say that while charges are pending (presumably against Mr. Rogers) they are nevertheless continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information about the Erie County truck accident to contact them at 898-1641.
