October 25, 2010, ERIE, PA — A middle aged man was taken to Hamot Medical Center after being struck by a car on East 12th Street Sunday afternoon. The man, whose identity is not yet known, was walking south on French Street crossing East 12th Street at about 4 pm yesterday when struck by a sport utility vehicle. The driver of the SUV has not yet been identified.
The injured pedestrian was observed to be conscious and alert while first responders at the scene cared for him. The Erie pedestrian accident is under investigation by the Erie police.
