September 1, 2010, ERIE, PA — Megan Porter, 24, was a passenger on an eastbound motorcycle on East 38th Street when a reportedly drunk driver made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. Ms. Porter was thrown from the motorcycle and killed.
The driver of the car, Eugene Metzger, 53, told police that he had four or more beers over a five-hour period, according to records filed with the Court. Mr. Metzger is charged with several crimes arising from his conduct in this matter.
The motorcycle operator, Jamie Wilt, was taken to Hamot Medical Center and is in critical condition.
