Erie Lawyers Dump Truck Crashes Into Summit Township Building

December 9, 2010

December 10, 2010, ERIE, PA — Two people were injured in an Erie County commercial truck accident in Summit Township that bizarrely involved a dump truck that drove into a nearby building. The two vehicle accident, which also included a Buick SUV, occurred Thursday near 9:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of Peach Street.

Little information is available about how the accident occurred but it is known that the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway and the dump truck, owned by Showman Excavating of Waterford, went off the east side of the road and into the front of a building that houses the “Shear Fantasy Hair Salon.”

None inside the building was injured although the owner said the crash “sounded like a bomb going off…You could hear the rafters shaking all the way through the house.”

Two occupants of the Buick were taken to Hamot Medical Center with unknown injuries. Their names and conditions were not immediately available.
