Erie Injury Attorney News More Info On Accident At I 79 And 32nd Street Overpass

February 7, 2011, ERIE, PA — Yesterday, we posted information about an Erie car accident that occurred Saturday on I-79 when a vehicle crashed through the guard rail near the 32nd Street overpass and rolled onto its roof. More information, including the identities of the people involved, has been released since then.

Jeffery Eugene Sweeney, 54, was the driver of the vehicle involved. Mr. Sweeney apparently lost control of his southbound Jeep Cherokee and rolled down the hillside but did not reach 32nd Street. Instead, the vehicle landed on its roof and wedged against a tree.

Mr. Sweeney and his passenger, Marlene E. Sweeney, 48, were taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment. Both Sweeneys have been released from the hospital.
