Erie Car Crash Attorney News Snowfall Causes Multiple Collisions

January 11, 2011

January 12, 2011, ERIE, PA — Moderate but steady snow fall led to a number of Erie area car crashes yesterday, the Erie Times reports. Most of the accidents occurred between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., the time when the snowfall and heavy traffic conditions coincided.

One of the more serious accidents occurred on the Franklin Avenue Bridge between East 12th Street and Buffalo Road. The accident occurred between a Dodge Caravan and a Ford F-250 although little is known about how the accident occurred. Firefighters freed a girl from the wreckage of the Caravan and two people were transported to the hospital. No identities have been released.

Erie and Millcreek police report that there were many reports of rear-end collisions and cars that slid into ditches, poles and trees. No other injuries were reported.

The best thing motorists can do in weather like this is slow down. The roads are too slippery to allow for quick stops or maneuvers.
