A substantial Erie car accident has been reported as having occurred at the intersection of 14th and Peach Streets in Erie, PA this morning.
The Erie Times News reports that a Jeep Cherokee (apparently being operated by an off duty Erie police officer) was traveling north on Peach Street when it collided with a Chevrolet Malibu being operated by an unknown woman in a westbound direction on 14th Street. The Erie car collision was significant enough that nearby observers reported hearing “a boom.” Damage to the cars was such that emergency crews had to remove the woman’s door in order to remove her from the vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital as a result of the Erie car crash. Details of their condition were not available.
